Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas at the City Theatre in Detroit

Feeling fancy this holiday season? No one does classy quite like Fancy Nancy. Come see for yourself when she throws her extravagant holiday celebration, Dec. 16-18, 2016 at Detroit’s City Theatre.

Get festive with Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas, an adaptation derived from Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser’s New York Times bestselling picture book.

The world has never seemed fancier to Nancy than at Christmastime. There’s so much to do in preparation for the holiday! The determined decorator wraps presents in “elegant” paper, decorates her home and tree with lots of tinsel and adorns her holiday cookies with a horde of sprinkles. Watch her decorate the family tree, but not without running into some hurdles along the way. Nancy saves the sparkly tree topper she’s bought with her own money for last, proving there’s no setback that can prevent her celebration. But what will she do when things don’t turn out as planned?

With extravagant costumes, music and commendable decorating – plus a host of fancy new vocabulary – this production is sure to prove stimulating for the entire family, but especially young kids.

Tickets are $29.50 for general admission. Show times are as follows:

  • Friday, Dec. 16: 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 17: 11 a.m., 2 and 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 18: 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
