The show that's produced talent like Kelly Clarkston, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson brings its top 10 contestants from season 11 on tour. And the American Idol Live! Tour is getting started July 6, 2012, right here in Detroit, at the Joe Louis Arena.
That date kicks off a two-month, 46-city tour across the United States, Canada and the Philippines, all presented by Chips Ahoy! and Ritz Crackers. This is the local chance for you and the kids to see your TV screen favorites live on stage.
Ticket prices range from $29.50 to $65 (additional fees will apply before your final cost). VIP packages are available, too, and include a meet-and-greet with the contestants, signed photo of the contestants, a program and more. You'll also be seated in the first 15 rows of the arena. Wherever you sit, though, you can choose to make a $1 donation to The Heart Foundation when purchasing your tickets. The fun all begins at 7 p.m.!
Winner Phillip Phillips and runner-up Jessica Sanchez – along with Colton Dixon, DeAndre Brackensick, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Heejun Han, Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet and Skylar Laine – will blow you away with their vocal skills. With group songs and solos, the tour is centered on what American Idol is all about – the discovery of great performers. Phillips, who is recovering from kidney surgery, is scheduled to be on the tour.
The whole family can now enjoy great performances without worrying about getting through the hotline. The tour will allow the performers to perform without the pressure of facing elimination.
