Little Big World in Ferndale Offers Kids a Passport to Play

A play-and-paint spot in Ferndale is encouraging kids to explore the world far beyond their backyards. Little Big World, opened in late 2015, has a free play area with murals representing different continents, canvas painting for ages 3-plus and “learn and play” events focused on arts, music and culture. The Passport Program introduces kids to other countries; they earn a stamp for each place they “visit.”

“It’s a way for us to study each other’s cultures around the world,” says owner Kandis El of art and play. “Exploring different cultures just opens your mind so much.”
