Utica Ice Festival in Downtown Utica

This annual Utica Ice Festival is prime for family fun – and will be held Feb. 9-11, 2018 in the downtown Utica area. Head out to celebrate winter before it's gone.

Don’t start thinking spring just yet. An annual festival that celebrates all things icy is coming to Utica and it’s sure to get you feeling at least a little thankful for our most frigid season of the year.

The Utica Ice Festival is returning for another weekend of fun Feb. 9-11, 2018. Held along the historic streets of downtown Utica, the event gives people of all ages the chance to admire amazing ice sculptures that light up at night.

Live professional ice carving will begin around 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 – and it’s a sight to be seen! In line with previous years the festival will also feature a variety of activities such as ice skating, a carousel and giant slide, meetings with the Elsa and even a big ol’ fireworks display on Saturday.

The Fireworks Spectacular will be held at JKN Riverwalk Park, but you’ll be able to view the fireworks show from all around the city starting around 8:20 p.m. The event is free and open to all.

If you’re planning to come see the ice sculptures, consider making a day of it by checking out one of Utica’s popular restaurants. And don’t work about getting cold because City Hall will be open and heated for all festival goers.
