Thunder Over Michigan at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti

Quench your family's thirst for death-defying, jaw-dropping fun at the annual Thunder Over Michigan Airshow, Aug. 3-4, 2019.

Do you have the need for speed? Head to the Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti and look up to be amazed at the mind-blowing event Thunder Over Michigan, happening Aug. 3-4, 2019.

Keep your eyes wide and toward the sky – or you just might miss the F16 Demo Team; plus stunt performances by Screamin’ Sasquatch and Corsair Crazy.

You don’t even have to be a die-hard aviation fan to enjoy this airshow. The flying formation of the planes itself will leave you in fascination. From the speed to the precision of the jet team, prepare to be left in awe.

The B-17 Flying Fortress “Yankee Lady,” B-25 Yankee Warrior and others will also be offering rides for people interested in flying in one of the aircrafts. All of the proceeds from the show will support the Yankee Air Museum, which is also the organization hosting the event.

Give your neck a break and go back in time with a World War II air and ground battle re-enactment. With vintage aircraft and talented re-enactors, this part of the event will not only be entertaining but educational

And don’t forget to check out the aircraft and war machines up close at the military statics and other displays.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday-Sunday and runs until 5 p.m. both days. You can visit the website for a complete schedule of lineups.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the gate. Parking is $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Kids under the age of 15 are free.
