Downtown Auburn Hills Summerfest

Bring your family to a weekend of fun at the Auburn Hills Summerfest June 21-22, 2013. The festival takes place right downtown at the corner of Squirrel and Auburn roads.

The eighth annual Summerfest features a variety of events for all ages. Check out the barbecue cook-off that begins on Friday and ends on Saturday, with judging at noon and awards at 3 p.m. And grab a delicious bowl of ice cream scooped by the city’s mayor and city council members at the ice cream social from 6-8 p.m.

There is a Kidz Korner just for your little ones featuring carnival games, face painting, inflatable obstacle courses, slides and much more.

Reminisce about old times at the classic car show called “By the River” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Let your tyke’s artsy side show with the sidewalk chalk art contest from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, or strike a cool pose in the free photo booth.

Let your children show off their furry friends at the pet parade at 11 a.m. Saturday or let them watch the parade to see their peers’ cute pets.

Stop by the arts and crafts fair to shop for unique finds to make the whole family smile. Or check out some good tunes by The Earth Angels, Chautauqua Express with Guy Louis, Fifty Amp Fuse and many more cool acts.

The hours of the Auburn Hills Summerfest are 4-10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
