Colonial Kensington at Kensington Metropark in Milford

During the weekend of Aug. 10-11, 2019, head to Kensington Metropark to see re-enactments of the 1700s at the annual Colonial Kensington.

If you or your family enjoys history, come to Kensington Metropark to see re-enactments galore at Colonial Kensington, Aug. 10-11, 2019.

Expect hundreds of re-enactors to introduce visitors to what life was like in the 1700s. The costumes are historically accurate and very cool to see in action. This event is perfect for anyone who loves history.

In addition to those in costumes, there will also be people representing historic craft and trade, who make handcrafted items just as they were made back in the 18th century. Purchase unique goods from the merchants.

For several years this event has delighted crowds with battle re-enactments and drill demonstrations, and this year is no different. Come and see all the surprises they have in store.

The whole fair will take place at Martindale Beach, so ye old partygoers can enjoy the sights of the water as well. Pack up the horse-drawn carriage (or, you know, family car) and head to Kensington Metropark from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

The cost of the event itself is only $2 per person and kids under 3 are free, so it’s a cheap way to give your kids a history lesson and to have a great time.

A Metropark vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark, but is just $10 a day per vehicle or $35 annually. With the annual pass, enjoy events at any Metropark for a full year. For seniors, an annual pass is $21.

There isn’t a way to go back in time yet, so check out this historical shindig for yourself and experience the colonial times just as you might have way back when.
