Downtown Chelsea Sounds and Sights Festival

The annual summer weekend of fun that is the Chelsea Sounds and Sights Festival returns July 25-27, 2019, with live music, art market, kids' activities and more.

The beautiful sights of downtown Chelsea will have even more appeal this month when the Chelsea Sounds and Sights Festival returns to town for its 15th year.

The weekend event, coming up July 25-27, 2019, draws visitors from all over Michigan, according to Chelsea Area Festivals and Events, and kicks off Thursday evening with music downtown, a social tent, food court and a movie at dusk.

The fun then continues with an art market, art demonstrations, KidZone, social tent and more on Friday and Saturday.

Sponsored by Rick Taylor Real Estate, the annual July fest has plenty of fun in store for families. You’ll find a classic car show on Friday – plus a pet parade on Saturday and a chalk art contest on both Friday and Saturday.

The KidZone – open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday behind the Clocktower – has children’s activities including bounce houses, fire truck demos, martial arts demos, an oversized bowling alley and much more.

If you’re heading out for the live music, consider Country Night on Friday with acts including Ashley Lynn & the Spurs and the Drew Hale Band – or the Dance Party featuring Metro Soul Band and Fifty Amp Fuse in the Social Tent on Saturday ($5 cover applies)

A food court will be available throughout the event. You can find the full festival schedule and more information here.

The festival is free to enter but a $5 fee is required after 6 p.m. for entry to the Social and Entertainment Tent.
