313 Day (named after Detroit’s area code) takes place on March 13 and is the celebration of all things Detroit.

Enjoy the Detroit 313 Day Celebration at Valade Park
Join Raise the Flag Detroit and the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy to celebrate 313 Day with music, poetry, comedy, trivia, activities, food, prizes and more. This is a free event and is great for all ages!
See first-hand what makes Detroit so special with Distinctively Detroit Tours
If you’re in the mood to play tourist for 313 Day, Distinctively Detroit Tours is offering free two-hour guided tours departing at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The driving tour highlights some of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks, including the Motown Museum, the Packard Plant, the Heidelberg Project, Eastern Market, the Joe Louis Monument, Michigan Central, Corktown, the Guardian Building and more. While the tours are free, advance registration is required at distinctivelydetroit.com. Pickup takes place at the Grand Boulevard entrance of the Fisher Building, 3011 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit.
313 Day Make and Take Crafts
The Main branch of the Detroit Public Library is celebrating 313 Day with a fun, free activity where kids of all ages can design their own unique “313” creation to take home. All materials will be provided.
3rd Annual 313 Day Ride
Celebrate 313 Day on two wheels with a group ride along the Joe Louis Greenway. Cyclists are encouraged to bring their bikes and sport their favorite Detroit gear while riding with fellow enthusiasts. Registration is free, and riders can also pay $12.51 to enter a raffle for a pair of multicolor wheel lights.

Get up early for breakfast delights
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at Joe Louis Southern Kitchen. Griddle options include Banana Foster French Toast, Key Lime Pie Flapjacks, Cinnamon Roll Flapjacks and more. Breakfast options for the kids are French toast, eggs with hash browns and meat, Mickey Mouse pancakes and chicken and waffles.
Discover Detroit’s art and history

Have a museum morning at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Historical Museum and the Motown Museum to learn more about the city’s art and history.
Visit the Detroit Public Library
Head across the street from the DIA, to see the beautiful stained-glass windows, arched ceilings and historic artwork at the Detroit Public Library -Main. Be sure to grab a copy of Metro Parent magazine while you’re there.

Get dinner at Hockeytown Café. They serve Detroit-style pizza and amazing apps (baked pretzels and garlic bread) and have a kid’s menu designed for ages 12 and under. Walk around the restaurant to view all of the Detroit sports history, as well.
Enjoy Detroit Basketball
