If you’re looking for a unique family-friendly Halloween outing for your family this year, you may want to consider the Halloween Stroll at Canterbury Village.
Each October weekend, Canterbury Village transforms into a Halloween-themed attraction featuring giant skeletons, haunted cemeteries, jack-o’-lantern displays, fog, music and costumed characters.
The stroll is self-paced and offers numerous photo opportunities. Organizers say the event is designed for families with children of all ages, including toddlers and elementary school students.
Here’s what to know before you go:
1. Dates, timing and location of Canterbury Village
The Halloween Stroll runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October on these dates: Oct. 3–5, 10–12, 17–19 and 24–26.
The nightly event begins at 6 p.m. and takes place at Canterbury Village, 2325 Joslyn Court, Lake Orion.
2. What you’ll do and seeÂ
Visitors will walk through decorated stations that include animatronics, fog, music and themed displays. Features this year include a pet cemetery, a jack-o’-lantern tent, Spider Witch’s domain and several new additions.
Characters appearing along the route include Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, the Addams Family and the Ghostbusters, with a multi-story Stay Puft marshmallow man.
According to the event website, the stroll does not include trick-or-treating; the focus is on the displays and photo opportunities.
3. Food, shopping and practical Information
All of Canterbury Village’s shops will be open during the stroll for browsing and souvenirs. Visitors can enjoy meals at Diner 55 or The Village Smokehouse, and grab cider and donuts from the on-site mill.
According to Canterbury Village, adult beverages will also be available. The event runs rain or shine, so dress accordingly.
