Wild Winter Safari Social at the Detroit Zoo

For the past seven years, families have flocked to the Detroit Zoo for its Wild Winter Weekends series – happening one weekend per month from January until March. And, on March 10-11, the event comes to a close with the Wild Winter Safari Social.

A winter safari scavenger hunt is among the highlights of this annual shindig, which welcomes 7,000 people each year. The scavenger hunt leads children all around the zoo. Once they’ve completed the hunt, they can do a craft or get their faces painted. Animal enrichment programs and zookeeper presentations round out the family fun.

The event is free with zoo admission, which is $12 for ages 15-plus and $8 for ages 2-14, and takes place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
