Chefs Share: Queen of Cupcakes

A fresh year is a sweet thing. So why not indulge your family a bit with cupcakes? The classic kid-sized snack has made a big comeback – in fact, FoodChannel.com just dubbed ’em one of the top 10 food trends of the last decade, up there with sushi and bacon.

Michigan’s original cupcake shop – and one of the first in the nation, The Cupcake Station, has been serving up the delish little goodies since 2006, now in both Birmingham and Ann Arbor. Here, co-owner Kerry Johnson shares a perfect from-scratch recipe from his grandmother, dubbed “The Queen Elizabeth” and featuring a touch of raisins. It’s sure to make your family feel like royalty!
