The LegaSea Aquarium Is Making Waves in Downtown Utica

Explore LegaSea, Utica’s new interactive aquarium with animal encounters, feeding fun and hands-on learning for families.

The longtime anticipated interactive indoor aquarium, LegaSea is finally open in downtown Utica!

 

LegaSea opened to its members on Monday, April 14, 2025 and then to the public on Monday, April 21, 2025. Since it’s in its “soft opening” phase, some experiences may not be available yet. Keep checking the LegaSea website and Facebook page for more experience updates.

  • Address: 45550 Van Dyke Ave., Utica
  • Hours: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily
  • Cost: $24.99/general admission, free/under 2

Families may want to book their tickets in advance to attend LegaSea to speed up the check-in process. There will be no re-entry on daily admission. Member discounts for guest admission must be purchased in person. 

Things to Do at LegaSea Aquarium 

The cool thing about LegaSea Aquarium is that it’s actually connected to The Reptarium, so you can check out both while you’re there. The Repatarium is an interactive reptile zoo where visitors can get a hands-on experience with the animal ambassadors. Some of the things to do include:

  • Photo opportunities and encounters with snakes, alligators and tons of amazing animal ambassadors.
  • Feed turtles, freshwater predator fish, saltwater fish, koi fish, stingrays and more.
  • Enjoy animal features throughout the day at no extra cost when zookeepers, aquarists and animal educators take a more in-depth look at certain animals.
  • Observe animals like Lilo the sloth climbing around her enclosure or Stich the binturong being an acrobat on his ropes in between napping on his hammock.
