Clinton Township Just Got a New Playground — and It’s Built for Every Kid

This inclusive playground welcomes everyone and is thoughtfully designed to support individuals with disabilities.

The new inclusive playground in Clinton Township has finally opened at Civic Center Park and, in our opinion, it was definitely worth the wait!

It is located next to the Clinton Macomb Public Library – Main Branch and the Clinton Township Splash Pad, making it the perfect spot to spend the day.

Details about the new playground

  • Address: 40700 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township

The playground differs from other nearby playgrounds because it has a poured-in-place surface, making it easy for people in wheelchairs to get around. It has swings for all abilities as well as a zipline with a supported seat. The slides are made of metal, which allows guests with cochlear implants to slide carefree without any issues that a plastic slide would cause.

There are even signs with the Macomb Intermediate School District’s storyboard system that help kids in Macomb County communicate nonverbally using symbols they already know. Also, for kids who may be overstimulated during their visit, there is a “quiet area” at the playground.
