This Halloween, there are plenty of kid-friendly events for you to check out with your family Whether it’s a trick-or-treating event, spooky attraction or even just some fall festivals, you’re sure to find something your children will enjoy.
My son, Jordan, and I love going to Glenlore Trails, Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village and the Halloween Stroll at Canterbury Village. This year, we’re going to make sure to check out all of the Halloween decorations on Tillson Street.

Halloween on Tillson Street

Each year, Tillson Street in Romeo turns into a Halloween hotspot with over-the-top decorations lining the block. Stroll through any evening in October to see the spooky setups, or come on Halloween night for trick-or-treating from 6–8 p.m. while the street is closed to traffic.
Halloween Hoopla at Macomb Township Recreation Center

Halloween Hoopla brings costumes, games and activities together for a family-friendly Halloween celebration at the Macomb Township Rec. Center. Enjoy an evening packed with indoor and outdoor fun, plus a trick-or-treat trail for kids. Registration required; no tickets sold on-site.
HarvestFest at Freedom Hill County Park
Oct 18-19, 2025
- Address: 14900 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights
- Cost: Tickets are $9 per person (children under 3 free). Day-of tickets are $10, payable by cash, Venmo or Cash App. Parking is $6 per vehicle.
HarvestFest offers more than 25 trick-or-treat stations along with hayrides, inflatables, live shows, a petting zoo and plenty of food trucks. Families can also enjoy music, movies and meet-and-greets with princesses and superheroes, while supporting a weekend-long food drive to benefit local pantries.

Take the kids on a one-mile illuminated forest walk filled with glowing lights, music, and interactive surprises. This year’s Witching Hour theme includes family-friendly displays, games and seasonal treats, with strollers and wagons welcome along the trail.
Halloween Stroll at Canterbury Village

Families can stroll through Canterbury Village transformed into a glowing Halloween wonderland with lights, animatronics, friendly characters and endless photo ops. Kids will love the jack-o’-lantern displays and festive atmosphere, with cider, donuts and food available along the way.
Meadow Brook Hall-oween at Meadow Brook Hall

Kids can trick-or-treat in costume throughout the estate, explore woodland paths and tour the first floor of the historic mansion. Families will also enjoy games, crafts, cider and donuts inside the heated Garden Tent, plus stories about Halloween traditions.
Trick-or-Treat: Superheroes at Troy Historic Village

Families can trick-or-treat through the Troy Historic Village with space-themed games, crafts and plenty of candy, including teal pumpkin options. Costumes are encouraged, and the event is friendly, not scary. Registration is recommended, as pre-registration closes Oct. 23.
Trick-or-Treat Trail at Marshbank Park
Oct. 26, 2025; sessions at 3 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

- Cost: $9 per child for residents; $11 per child for nonresidents; adults free (no registration required)
Kids can trick-or-treat along a festive trail at Drake Sports Park, collecting goodies from costumed characters, local businesses and community groups. Each child receives a treat bag plus a cider-and-donut voucher. Registration is required, and this event is expected to sell out.
