St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. Have your children been making projects at school or at home to celebrate all things green? If not, you’ve still got time to give your child a last-minute, easy craft for kids for St. Patrick’s Day. Once made, it can be turned into a greeting card, a piece of art suitable for a picture or simply placed proudly on the refrigerator for leprechauns of all ages to enjoy.
Materials
- White card stock
- 1 Green Lion Brand Yarns Bonbon
- All-purpose craft glue
- Scissors
- Fine-tip green marker and green crayon
- Heart cookie cutter
Instructions
Start out by using the heart shape cookie cutter as a tracing template for the shamrock. Trace two hearts with points touching. Add the third heart shape on top.
Don’t forget to add a stem!
Have you seen Lion Brand Yarns’ Bonbon skeins before? You can find them at your local craft store in the needle arts section. Available in packages of eight in a variety of colors, these Bonbons are great to have in your child’s craft supply stash.
Trace the outline of your shamrock with a very thin line of craft glue. Unravel the yarn from the Bonbon and start outlining the shamrock, applying pressure to the yarn to make contact with the glue. Work your way around the entire design and then trim the tail with a pair of scissors. Let the glue dry completely.
Color the inside of the shamrock with a green crayon. Add additional decorations if you’d like.
