Winter Gold is Lighting Up Beacon Park in Downtown Detroit

The free holiday light show at Beacon Park features 125,000 twinkling lights and festive selfie stations for the perfect holiday photo.

More than 125,000 sparkling lights are casting a gorgeous golden glow over Beacon Park this holiday season. This year’s holiday light show is Winter Gold, a dazzling display that features reindeer and snowflakes made out of twinkling lights, as well as holiday photo stations and more festive decor.

  • Visit Santa at 1001 Winter Wonderland. The whimsical Santaland is open for free photos with Santa through Dec. 24, 2024. 
  • Go dashing through downtown in a magical horse-drawn carriage ride. 
  • Hit The Rink at Campus Martius Park. Families can ice skate and enjoy scenic views, themed events, giveaways and more.
  • Hang out at Chalet 313. New this year, the two-story holiday hangout space overlooks the Christmas tree and all of the festivities at Campus Martius Park. Chalet 313 features warm seating, a full bar offering festive cocktails and dazzling views of the ice rink, Detroit skyline and the Christmas tree.
