Livonia Mom’s First Ford SUV Won’t Be Her Last

This Wayne County mom of two owns a Ford Edge SEL and says it’s perfect for long weekends away, carting the kids around town and more.

When Natasha Castelvetere, a mom of two from Livonia, was pregnant with her first child, she knew she needed a bigger car, especially since she planned to have more than one kid. After all, those car seats do take up a lot of space in any automobile. So, she did something she had never done before: Castelvetere purchased an automobile that wasn’t a Chrysler.

Castelvetere comes from a Chrysler family. In fact, her father is a Chrysler retiree, she notes, “so we always had Chrysler cars in my family.”

However, when it came time to purchase a new, larger ride for her growing family, Castelvetere made the switch to Ford — the Ford Edge SEL, to be exact — and if you ask this Livonia mom of two, she has no plans to go back.

“I definitely love the car. I don’t have any complaints about it,” she says. There have not been any maintenance issues or car repairs needed since she purchased the SUV a few years back, she adds. And that’s a big plus for any family, since no one wants to deal with car repairs and additional costs.

Today, she not only hauls her kiddos back and forth to day care in her Ford Edge, but the family drives it on weekend getaways. Here, this Livonia mom shares more about what she loves about her Ford Edge — and which Ford her family plans to purchase next.

Comfort and space

From a double stroller to a pack-n-play to diapers, wipes and several changes of clothes — children require a lot of things for travel. That’s why storage is essential, and that’s exactly what you’ll get with the Ford Edge.

Because the Castelvetere family travels up north several times a year, the Edge’s spacious interior makes trips a lot easier — and much more comfortable.

“I feel like in all of my cars that I had that were Chrysler, the seats were very uncomfortable,” she notes, but that’s not the case with the Edge. The seats are comfy and, “the drive is really nice. It’s not super bumpy,” she says. “I feel safe in it.”

Safety is key and that’s why the Ford Edge boasts Ford Co-Pilot360, which is comprised of five standard driver-assist features including BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross traffic alert, Lane Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Auto High-Beam Headlamps and a rearview camera. Each feature helps keep your family safe by detecting lane drifts, potential collisions and so much more.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is great for those who spend a lot of time in car, and especially for parents traveling with their most precious cargo.

Which Ford SUV is next on the list for the Castelvetere family? This local mom says her husband is contemplating getting a Ford Explorer, which features a third row — and even more space for family travel.

When it comes to upcoming car purchases, one thing is for sure: Ford is part of the Castelvetere family’s future.
