Look up in the sky! It’s … remote controlled airplanes! While you won’t experience superhuman fun at Air Fair at Groveland Oaks Campground in Holly on Aug. 8, 2015, the entertainment’s sure to prove flightful with all sorts of flying devices.
Watch gliders soar through the air with the greatest of ease. See kites and hovercrafts tease gravity and hot air balloons race the clouds. Bring your own remote controlled contenders to see how they fair among other aerodynamic gadgets.

Craft your very own kites and balloons to tote while you watch the youngsters tackle inflatable obstacle courses.
Preoccupied with the action in the sky and want to rest your tired soles? Opt for a hayride shuttle across the campgrounds, 2-10 p.m.
Return in time to view The Live Birds of Prey program showcase their predatory masters of the sky starting at 3:30 p.m.
Kids can challenge their nemeses to duals in the Jousting Coliseum or to a race on the Bungee run. Other family-friendly opportunities include a magic show at 1 p.m., periodical puppet shows, a butterfly tent featuring Michigan-native butterflies, storytelling and face painting.
Jam out with the Detroit-native band The Incredibles at 8 p.m. Then don’t miss the tethered hot air balloons light up the night after dusk at the nightglow once they return from their flight.
Camp all weekend long or pop in for a day of skybound fun! The hours for the festivities are 2-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. Campground recreation is running earlier in the day starting at 10 a.m. Cost is $5/vehicle for Oakland County resident; $10/vehicle nonresident regular.
