Is Times Square a little out of your reach for your family’s New Year’s Eve celebrations? Well, you can treat your kids to the New Year’s Eve they’ve always dreamed of right here in Detroit – during the annual NYE Kids Countdown at Beacon Park on Dec. 31, 2019.

This new New Year’s Eve party for kids kicks off 2020 in style starting at 1 p.m. Gather in and around Beacon Park in Detroit for lighting displays and fun lawn games.

Grown-ups and kids of all ages find fun with this event’s make-and-take crafts. You’ll also find plenty of delicious eats from some of the area’s best food trucks and a heated lodge tent to explore.

The whole event culminates with a kiddie toast station and balloon drop, during which kids take part in a traditional countdown – and toast to the New Year with some sparkling juice.

The NYE Kids Countdown runs from 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019 at Beacon Park in Detroit. The event is free to attend and open to kids and adults of all ages.
