Ever wonder how villages and skyscrapers came to be? It all started with our ancient ancestor’s initial interest with objects and architecture – something uncovered by archaeologists today.
If you or your kid is interested in learning more, head out to Ann Arbor for the Excavating Archaeology exhibit at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, on display Oct. 18, 2017-May 27, 2018.
This new exhibition will take patrons back 200 years with a variety of carefully chosen relics and archival documents on display. Plus, photos and other materials that will bring pieces of the past to life.
Then, it will blast you a century into Michigan’s future as you take a look at what the coming years will mean for archaeology and museums.
The whole thing takes place at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, which is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Admission is free but donations are always welcome.
Metered parking is available and is free after 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and all day on Sunday.
